Hydrology 9 Background
Just one look at the Hydrology 9 and you can see that it is one of the more original dry herb vaporizers on the market. It has water filtration, an LED light show, an integrated stirring tool, and other advanced features. Thefy aren’t just for show—well the light show is, of course—because they’re meant to provide a next-level vaping experience to go along with the Hydrology’s next-level looks.
It doesn’t quite reach the next level, but it is certainly on a different level compared to other weed vapes. Is that a level you want to be on? If you like flash and lots of interesting gimmicks, then sure, but if you want a really strong vaping experience that can match the best weed vaporizers, then probably not. You’ll get more details in the rest of my Hydrology 9 review.

How it is Designed
The Hydrology 9 is one seriously unique looking vape, it’s a big cylinder-shaped device that consists of four parts, the base where the battery, herb chamber and heating element are located, the glass chamber that holds the water, the glass mouthpiece, and the metal mouth cap. Magnetic connections mean that it is very easy to assemble, which is good because assembly and disassembly can be a time-consuming process, especially when you include the filling and emptying of the water in the glass chamber.
The Hydrology has some cool built-in features, like the stirring tool built into the base that you can use to swirl around the herb while you vape. You can adjust the air intake to alter the draw resistance, which is a nice feature. Also, there are multicolored LED lights in the chamber that correspond to the five different temperature settings. They create a nice show when they reflect off the water in the chamber.
This vape might be classified as a portable but it’s about as pocket-friendly as a refrigerator. When you consider the lengthy loading and water-filling process, you quickly realize that this isn’t really a vape that you can take with you, even in a backpack. The Hydrology 9 is pretty much the definition of an at-home-vaporizer.
How It Performs
With the long vapor path and the water chamber, you would expect that the Hydrology produces some extremely cool vapor, no matter which of the five temperature settings you choose. And you would be right, this vaporizer is very easy on the lungs. Perhaps a little too easy because the vapor and the flavor are both very light. That is great for beginners or for anyone using the Hydrology for medical purposes, but experienced—or even casual—vapers will enjoy the flavor, but seasoned vapers will be disappointed that the vapor is not as strong as other vapes in this price range. I felt the effects of the vapor, I just didn’t taste it much.
The Hydrology holds a surprisingly small amount of herb considering how large it is, just about half a gram, if you are a regular vaper, then you will be refilling it a lot. As I stated earlier, disassembly and reassembly is easy but time-consuming, and needing to refill it all the time can become a chore.
Battery: The Hydrology has a 2000 mAh rechargeable battery that can last for about ninety minutes, but it takes nearly three hours to get charged.
