Wismec HiFlask Review Bottom Line

So, do you want a pod mod or an AIO mod? If you get the Wismec HiFlask, you don’t have to choose. This easy to use vape mod gives you the best of both worlds. Even though it’s convenient, it lacks some versatility when it comes to e-juice use and airflow. Despite those shortcomings, the Wismec HiFlask is still a solid vape mod.

Wismec HiFlask Background

The Wismec HiFlask ($38.71 from VapeSourcing) is a sort of hybrid between a pod mod and an AIO (All-in-one) mod, which kind of makes you wonder who this device is meant for. From what I can tell, it seems to be a beginner friendly mod, but vape veterans will have some things to like—as well as a few issues—with the HiFlask. But more on that later.

Wismec makes one of the Best Vape Mods, so you can expect a solid level of quality from this mod. Check out the rest of my Wismec HiFlask review to find out what else you can expect from this hybrid mod.

Wismec Flask Design

The HiFlask is a standard, but still, good looking device. It has a plastic body with a metallic finish that makes it look really solid and the top and bottom of the device are made from tinted plastic. Overall, this vape mod is pretty stylish looking. It functions nicely too, the firing button is hexagonal shaped and located on the front of the device. It doesn’t protrude too much and has a nice, solid click to it, it also feels good to use with either a thumb grip or a trigger grip.

The pod system—technically a cartridge—that is the HiFlask’s calling card works really well too. It’s easily released using a secure latch and has the drip tip, coil, and airflow control all integrated into it. It’s easy to refill, but the tinted plastic makes it hard to tell how much liquid is inside of it. The JVUA coils slip easily into and out of it like a drawer, ultimately, the cartridge works pretty well in general.

One area of design that could use some improvement is the battery life indicator. This is indicated by a light behind the fire button that blinks at an increasing frequency as the battery goes down. It can get pretty confusing trying to discern just what those blinking lights mean. This means that the battery can die on you unceremoniously while you try to decode the blinking lights.

How to Use the Wismec Flask

  1. Remove the cartridge from the device and remove the plug from the filler hole.
  2. Fill the cartridge with e-liquid, replace the rubber plug and re-insert the cartridge into the device.
  3. Press the fire button 5x to turn on the device.
  4. Inhale from the drip tip while pressing down the fire button.

The airflow control is a nice feature but it doesn't really allow for MTL vaping.

Performance and Vapor Quality of the Wismec Flask

The performance of the HiFlask depends on the VG/PG ratio of the e-liquid you’re using, a 50/50 ratio works best. As the VG percentage increases, the performance decreases, at around 80% the performance falls off completely, you start getting dry, uncomfortable hits. So, stick with a 50/50 mix, and also stick to tobacco or lighter tasting flavors, they seem to work the best.

Despite the airflow control, the HiFlask is best suited for direct lung vaping rather than MTL vaping. Even with the airflow dial set to minimum, the mod didn’t provide much MTL satisfaction, it always feels airy and open no matter what. This sets up the HiFlask to be somewhat of a contradictory device since it seems to be meant for beginners because of how simple it is to use. However, the MTL vaping beginners prefer just isn’t feasible here.

The 2100mAh battery lasts for a long time—around six to seven hours of vaping—so, assuming you aren’t vaping 24/7, you can go for up to two days before recharging. When you do need to recharge, it won’t take long thanks to the quick charge cable.

Wismec HiFlask Review: Conclusion

The Wismec HiFlask ($38.71 from VapeSourcing) is a pretty good, very user-friendly vape mod. The performance won’t blow you away, but it’s pretty good as long as you stick to a 50/50 mix. That means it lacks the versatility of some of the Best Vape Mods, but it’s more convenient and easier to use than most of them.

Despite the sub-par MTL performance, the HiFlask is a pretty good mod for beginners. Seasoned modders may not like the dry hits they get from high VG e-liquids, though. Still, for an attempt at melding two different style of vape mods, Wismec did a pretty good job.

Thanks for reading my Wismec HiFlask review, this is a good start, but hopefully Wismec can build on it and make it even better.
