Utillian 5 Review

The Good: Huge vapor cloud creation | Powerful, long-lasting battery | Includes multiple coils

The Bad: Vapor could be too strong for some people | Flavor quality is not that high

The Bottom Line: The Utillian 5 is a real lungbuster of a vape pen. It’s a little too much for me, but if big clouds are what you want, then big clouds are what you’ll get. I tend to favor flavor over vapor production, so the 5 wasn’t for me. For those of you who are into huge cloud cover, I’m pretty sure that you’ll be satisfied with the Utillian 5.

Design and Features

Utillian 5 Design
The Utillian 5 is not the most exciting looking vaporizer but it is easy to use, easy to learn and has a lot of nice functionality built in.

General Design: The Utillian 5 is a little wider than most wax pens, and has a big metal mouthpiece sticking out of the top. It’s not a bad looking device, but it is a somewhat generic looking one, down to the silver and dark grey color scheme that is fairly commonplace. Like most vape pens, it has a single power button to control the power and heat selection functions.

Attaching the different atomizers is pretty simple and the loading procedure doesn’t take too long. Also, the USB port is on the side of the device, so it can stand upright while it charges. The 5 might not be much of a looker, but it certainly functions well.

Portability: Despite its girth, the 5 easily fits into any pocket. Well, easily might be a bit of an exaggeration, but it will fit. So, purses and backpacks will hold it effortlessly as well.

How to Use

  1. Remove the mouthpiece to expose the coils of the atomizer.
  2. Dab your wax on to the coils and then replace the mouthpiece.
  3. Press the power button five times to turn on the device.
  4. Select one of the preset voltage settings by pressing the power button twice.
  5. Inhale from the mouthpiece once heating is complete.

Voltage Settings: 2.2V | 2.4V | 2.6V | 2.8V

Performance and Vapor Quality

Utillian 5 Performance
The kanthal coils are slightly less intense than the triple titanium coil, but they are still too strong for most vapers.

Vapor Quality: First of all, the 5 is not for beginners because it hits hard. No matter which atomizer you choose, you’ll be getting incredibly intense vapor and big clouds. So, if you prefer dense vapor over rich flavor, then this is the vape pen for you. If you still want some flavor, then you should choose the kanthal coils, it can output huge vapor clouds but you can still get some flavor as long as you choose one of the two lower settings. That combo brought me the most satisfaction since I’m all about the flavor.

Now, if you’re all about lung threatening hits and fog-like vapor, then the triple titanium coils are for you. Even if you like extreme vaping, those coils might knock you flat on your back. That coil delivered some of the biggest, harshest rips I’ve experienced in a while. Even on the lower voltage settings, it hits hard. That’s actually pretty impressive since the 5 uses a ceramic rod instead of the quartz that you usually see in these coil rod atomizers.

Battery Performance: The Utillian 5 goes big here too since it uses a huge 1050 mAh battery. Normally, 900 mAh is pushing the upper reaches of vape pen batteries, but the 5 surges past those limits. If you’re a moderate vaper—which you kind of have to be with a vape this strong, then you can go for about a week before even thinking of a recharge.

Utillian 5 vs Cloud V Flash Vaporizer vs HoneyStick Stinger

If you want to go big in a different way, then you should try out the Flash Vaporizer. It uses a ceramic coil, so it doesn’t hit nearly as hard as the 5, but that coil is huge, so it holds a whole lot of wax. The Stinger also uses a ceramic coil and it is nearly the same size as the 5, plus it has an even bigger battery, but not by much.

Bottom Line

The Utillian 5 is an impressively powerful vape pen that might be a little too powerful for a lot of people. That is because the vapor it produces hits like a truck. You get some decent flavor at lower voltage settings, but this vape is all about the clouds. If you’re all about the clouds too, then you’ll dig the 5, but if you want stronger flavor as opposed to stronger hits, then you’ll have to look elsewhere.

Who is it for: Anyone who likes strong, intense hits and big clouds when they vape.

Who is it NOT for: Anyone who prefers a smoother vaping experience and great flavor quality.
