Session Micro Starter Kit Review
TVG reviews products
The Good: Highly discreet and portable | Powerful battery | Low draw resistance
The Bad: Can only fit cartridges up to 12mm
The Bottom Line: I’ve tried a lot of 510 batteries lately, but this is one of the better ones. I like that it’s really small but still has multiple voltage settings. That’s a combination I don’t see that often. It has a more powerful battery than I was expecting too. And you get all that for a price that is lower than a lot of other 510 batteries.

- Refillable cartridge
- Micro USB charging cable
Compatibility: The Micro Starter Kit is compatible with prefilled CBD and THC cartridges.
Design and Features
General Design: The Micro Battery has a cutout on the side, with a hoop at the top that makes inserting cartridges very easy. The cutout is not adjustable, but the Micro Battery can still fit cartridges up to 12mm. Attaching a cartridge is quick since you just screw it into the connector and you’re done.
One big difference between this and other conceal box style batteries is that the cartridge is completely exposed here. That shouldn’t cause too many issues, but if you drop the battery and it hits the ground the wrong way, the cartridge could get damaged.
Portability: Session wasn’t kidding around when they decided to call this battery the Micro. At a little under two inches tall, it fits neatly in the palm of the hand. And practically anywhere else. You won’t have any issues taking it with you anywhere, even with a cartridge attached.
Build Quality: The Micro Battery is made from a hard, durable plastic that feels good to hold. The hoop at the top looks like it could be prone to breaking since the material is thinnest there. I haven’t had any problems so far, but it is something to be aware of.
How to Use
- Screw your cartridge into the battery.
- Press the power button five times to turn on the battery.
- Press the power button three times to choose a voltage setting.
- Inhale from the mouthpiece of your cartridge once heating is complete.
Voltage Settings: 3.3V | 3.6V | 4.0V
Battery Performance: The Micro Battery has a short heat up time and a nice, easy airflow. So, using it isn’t much of a hassle whether you’re an experienced user or if this is your first time using a 510 battery.
Vapor Quality: This battery is made for thin to medium viscosity oils and since CBD oils tend to be of a lower viscosity, the Micro Battery works well with them. So, it’s a good choice if you like to take a hit or two throughout the day. The variable voltage settings and preheat function mean that you have a lot of control over the vaping experience. The lower settings are better for flavor, while you can get bigger clouds on the highest setting.
Battery Duration: Whether you like to take the occasional hit, or you like longer sessions, the Micro Battery has your back. Its 500 mAh capacity can last for a while before it needs a recharge. When it does need a recharge, you won’t be waiting long since that only takes about an hour.
Session Micro Battery vs Yocan Uni vs KandyPens C-Box 510 Battery
All of these batteries are small but—unsurprisingly—the Micro is the smallest. However, it doesn’t have the smallest battery, that would be the C-Box, though it makes up for that by having the most voltage settings. The Uni is the most versatile because its adjustable shutter can fit cartridges of any size.

The Session Micro Battery is a great choice for anyone who likes to take a hit or two throughout the day. It’s also great for anyone who likes longer sessions because the powerful 500 mAh battery lasts for a long time. Three different voltage settings and a preheat function give you control over the vaping experience. As long as you stick to cartridges that use thin or medium viscosity, the Micro Battery makes one of the better companions for them.
Who is it for: Anyone who wants a portable, long lasting 510 battery.
Who is it NOT for: Vapers who like to use oils of a thicker viscosity.
