Compatibility: The G Pen Nova LXE is compatible with wax concentrates and can accommodate prefilled 510 cartridges.
Design and Features
General Design: The Nova LXE is a fairly standard looking vape pen on the outside, but it has a charcoal grey finish that distinguishes it from other pens. It is a little different from other pens on the inside, specifically the mouthpiece, which has a dab tool built right into it. The tool is made of stainless steel and works quite well, which means that there is one less accessory that you need to take with you. It also detaches, which makes cleaning it pretty simple.
That makes the Nova LXE a lot more convenient than most other vape pens. The only atomizer choice for this pen is the default ceramic one. It’s fairly deep and can hold a decent amount of wax, plus loading it is pretty easy with the built-in dab tool.
Portability: This is never really a problem with vape pens and it’s definitely not a problem with the Nova LXE. It’s about four inches tall and has a very slim diameter. So, it slips easily into any pocket, where it resides comfortably and unobtrusively until you’re ready to use it.
Cleaning and Maintenance
The Nova LXE is pretty easy to clean even though there is one additional component to worry about in the dab tool. The tool is easily cleaned by wiping it down with a cotton swab that has been soaked in isopropyl alcohol. You can also clean out the ceramic atomizer the same way, but for more stubborn residue, a burn off may be necessary. That is when the Nova LXE is set to its highest voltage setting in order to melt any sticky residue.
G Pen Nova and G Pen Nova LXE Differences
The Nova LXE is an update and upgrade to the original G Pen Nova. The first Nova was actually a dual-use vaporizer that could also vape dry herb, but Grenco decided to focus the Nova LXE on concentrates. There are a lot of big differences between the two, though they are mainly on the inside. One of the more prominent differences is that the built-in dab tool of the LXE is of a much higher quality. That is because it is made from stainless steel instead of silicon, like it is in the Nova.
Less noticeable is the higher capacity battery of the Nova LXE, which, at 650 mAh is more than double the Nova’s 300 mAh battery. The boost in power also means that the voltage selections of the LXE are higher than the original. One big difference between the two is the improved airflow of the Nova LXE. Not only does this create a lower draw resistance, it creates bigger clouds as well.
How to Use
- Remove the mouthpiece section from the battery, and then unscrew the dab tool attachment from the mouthpiece.
- Use the dab tool to place a small amount of wax into the atomizer.
- Reattach the dab tool to the rest of the mouthpiece and then screw the mouthpiece section on to the battery.
- Press the power button five times to turn on the device.
- Press the power button three times to select one of the voltage settings.
- Once heating is complete, inhale from the mouthpiece.
Voltage Settings: 3.2V | 3.6V | 4.1V
Performance and Vapor Quality
Vapor Quality: The vapor produced by the LXE is quite flavorful thanks to the ceramic atomizer. That’s because the atomizer keeps the vapor pure, so you get all of the flavor and aroma of the wax. For that, I found that the middle voltage setting was the best, but I still got great flavor from the highest and lowest settings.
The highest setting is the best for big clouds and the Nova LXE does manage to put out some big clouds even though it uses a ceramic atomizer. Those types of atomizers are notable more for flavor than for clouds, but the improved airflow helps the Nova LXE to create some dense cloud cover.
It’s also great for use with 510 cartridges since the cartridges look and feel natural when attached to the Nova LXE. I got all the flavor from each cartridge I used with it, which makes the Nova LXE a pretty versatile vape pen.
Battery Performance: The Nova LXE has a 650 mAh battery that is good for a few days of moderate use before it needs to be recharged.
