Dr. Dabber Light Review

Review Summary

5
5/5
The Dr Dabber Light is a surprisingly good budget wax pen. It delivers good flavor quality in a small and slim and stealthy device. It’s easy to operate that even first-time vapers won’t have any trouble using it. The only downside is that the atomizer needs to be replaced every few weeks, but aside from that, this is a great vape pen for the price.

If you want to try a different atomizer, then you can get one with a ceramic coil directly from Dr Dabber. The flavor from the titanium wrapped glass coil included in the package is very good, but the ceramic is even better. You can also get replacements for the mouthpiece and the standard atomizer if you want. Whatever you buy, make sure that you use the Dr Dabber coupon code when you make that purchase.

Design and Features

Dr Dabber Design
The Light is smaller than an actual pen, so it is very portable-friendly. However, the power button sticks out a little too prominently.

General Design: The Light is about as nondescript as vape pens get, which is great if you’re all about stealth and secrecy. It’s not so great if you want something a little more distinctive, but even if it isn’t flashy, it’s pretty functional. A blue light that illuminates when the power is on is the only bit of style that you get. It’s also 510 threaded, so there’s some versatility there if you want to use it to power your pre-filled CBD or THC cartridges

The power button is prominent and sticks out from the body of the battery. It might stick out a little too far for most though. On the plus side, you never have to wonder if you pressed down on it or not like you sometimes have to do with buttons that sit more flush against the body. On the negative side, it does look a little strange, and you can press it accidentally. The Light has a tapered mouthpiece that feels good to vape from.

Portability: The Light shines in this category because it is one of the smaller vape pens you will ever use. It’s smaller than an actual pen, so you can easily take it anywhere you want.

Cleaning and Maintenance

The Light is pretty easy to clean but you will have to replace the atomizer every couple of weeks depending on how frequently you use it. You clean the atomizer by dropping it into a small container filled with isopropyl alcohol for twenty to thirty minutes. Once time is up, you remove it from the alcohol and let it dry out before using it again.

How to Use

  1. Remove the mouthpiece to expose the coils.
  2. Dab some wax onto the coils and then replace the mouthpiece.
  3. Press the power button five times to turn on the device.
  4. Inhale from the mouthpiece while holding down the power button.

Voltage Setting: The Light only has a single voltage setting, which is not specified by Dr Dabber.

Performance and Vapor Quality

Dr Dabber Light Performance
The titanium wrapped glass wick provides great flavor but needs to be replaced every few weeks.

Vaporizer Performance: The Light heats up almost instantly and it never gets hot to the touch. The tapered mouthpiece feels good and has a low draw resistance.

Vapor Quality: The flavor is surprisingly good with the Light, far better than I expected. The single voltage setting and small size had me expecting fairly weak vapor, but the vapor quality is nearly as good as larger, more expensive vaporizers. You don’t get that burnt taste near the end of your session as you do with other budget vape pens because the flavor stays strong throughout.

Battery Performance: With moderate use, the battery lasts for a few days before it needs a recharge. That recharge is pretty fast, taking just under an hour, even if the battery is completely dead.
