Atmos Swiss Background

The Atmos Swiss ($129.95 directly from Atmos, use coupon code TVG15 for a 15% discount) is a versatile, multi-purpose (like a swiss army knife, get it?) vaporizer that can vape THC concentrates and dry herb. There are a bunch of Great Wax Vaporizers to choose from though, so why choose the Swiss?

For one thing, it can save you money if you also vape dry herb or if you like to vape your wax in multiple ways. That’s because the Swiss can function as a standalone vaporizer or as an accessory. Of course it’s one thing to be able to do all of those things, it’s another thing to do all of those things well. So is the Swiss the ultimate multi-use vaporizer or is it a Jack of all Trades, Master of None? Check out my Atmos Swiss review to find out.

Atmos Swiss Design

Atmos Swiss Storage Jar
The built-in storage container is a useful place to store your wax.

The basic Swiss is 5.44 inches tall and 0.94 inches in diameter, so it’s on the large side for a vape pen. Its portability is limited to purses, backpacks, and jacket pockets, rather than pants pockets. Its functionality isn’t limited, since it’s comfortable to hold and feels good when you’re vaping from it. The glass mouthpiece helps a lot since it keeps the vapor cool and the flavor pure.

The silicon storage jar in the base is also a great portable feature since you don’t have to keep your wax in a separate container. Using it as a dab rig accessory is also easy since the adapter is tapered to fit 14mm and 18mm female joints, no additional parts are necessary. Using the Swiss as an e-nail or a dry herb vape is also simple because the necessary components are easy to attach, though they are sold separately.

Atmos Swiss Vape Pen
The Swiss is a little larger than most vape pens.

One surprising oversight is the lack of a distinct temperature control or a battery indicator. There are three preset temperature settings but you don’t know what they are. This is somewhat acceptable when using it as a vape pen since they usually have preset settings. It’s also fine when using the Swiss as a dab rig accessory. It’s not great when using it as an e-nail or a dry herb vape since both those kinds of devices work best with granular temperature controls.

The lack of a clear battery life indicator is inconvenient because the indicator lights only show the battery level when turning on the device. The stainless steel finish of the Swiss is classy, understated and scratch resistant. Overall, it feels like a solid and well engineered device but there are a lot of parts to keep track of so you should be careful how you store them.

Performance and Vapor Quality of the Atmos Swiss

Vape Pen Mode

The Swiss functions pretty well as a vape pen despite being bigger and less portable than most of them. The glass mouthpiece might limit portability but it cools down the vapor and keeps the flavor pure. Operation is simple and this is easily the most practical mode, and my favorite since you don’t need any additional accessories or parts. Speaking of which…

E-nail Mode

Atmos Swiss Vapor
The Swiss’ functionality as a vape pen is very good.

There are a few issues here:

  1. You need to buy a separate kit – this adds to the expense of a device that isn’t cheap to begin with.
  2. Limited nail choice – the Swiss only includes a titanium one, the other nail types are sold separately, most e-rigs include titanium, quartz, and ceramic nails.
  3. There’s no granular temperature selection – again, the Best E-rigs allow you to choose from a wide range of temperatures.

As you can see, a dedicated e-rig would be much cheaper and give you more options. The Swiss’ performance as an e-nail is decent but an actual one would be the superior option.

As a Dab Rig Accessory

I tried it out on the Higher Standards Rig and it worked fine, but is it better than a blowtorch? It’s a little safer but the torch gives you a higher temperature range and is more fun to use. Also, the Swiss takes longer to set up than a torch. The Swiss works as a rig accessory but it doesn’t give you any huge benefits over a less expensive torch and it only has one nail option included.

Dry Herb Mode

Atmos Swiss Titanium Nail
The Swiss only includes a titanium nail for wax vaping.

This mode also needs a separate accessory to work as a dry herb vape but I wouldn’t bother with it. The fact that even the instruction manual warns you that your weed might combust tells you a lot. The fact that the Best Weed Vapes have discrete temperature controls should tell you the rest. Despite the glass mouthpiece, vaping dry herb always feels too hot with the Swiss, it’s clearly a wax device so get a pure weed device for your herbs.

The Swiss works best as a vape pen, every other mode requires extra expenses on top of the Swiss and don’t work as well devices dedicated to those functions. The battery life can last for a few sessions and charges in about three hours, which is average for a 1500 mAh battery.
