Pulsar Flow Background

In the market for a beginner dry herb vaporizer? How about a simple, convenient portable? If you answered yes to either of those questions then the Pulsar Flow ($100 from Vape-Smart, coupon code TVG10 saves you 10%) has your name on it. This small, handheld vape is super easy to use with qualities that even some of the Best Dry Herb Vaporizers don’t have.

This mid-level vape outshines some of its bigger rivals with a long vapor cooling air path and a flavor preserving quartz lined herb chamber. Try finding both those things in bigger vapes. You won’t! Not at this point anyway. Check out the rest of the Pulsar Flow review to get all the details on this vaporizer’s kit, design, performance, and more.

Pulsar Flow Kit

The Pulsar Flow has a solid kit that includes a replacement mouthpiece insert and cleaning supplies–not too shabby. Here is what you’ll be getting:

  • The Pulsar Flow dry herb vaporizer
  • Replacement silicone mouthpiece insert
  • Stirring tool
  • Cleaning brush + cleaning wipes
  • USB charging cable

Cleaning tools are a nice inclusion but if you hate cleaning, try the SLX grinder. It has a non-stick surface that hardly ever needs cleaning and it grinds up your herb nice and fine—which is super important when using a dry herb vaporizer.

Key Features of the Pulsar Flow

The quartz lined herb chamber of the Pulsar Flow is the kind of unexpected surprise that I enjoy. It helps preserve the vapor’s flavor and is the kind of thing you hardly ever see, even in premium vapes. Here are some other noteworthy features:

  • Compatible w/ dry herb
  • Magnetic lid – easy access to herb chamber
  • Quartz lined herb chamber – helps w/ flavor preservation
  • Long airpath – cools down the vapor
  • Good temperature range – 356°F | 374° | 392°F | 410°F | 428°F

The magnetic lid (L) is secure but easy to remove and the quartz lined herb chamber (R) preserves the flavor of the herb.

Pulsar Flow Design

The Pulsar Flow is 128.9 mm x 31.5 mm x 38.5 mm, that’s small enough to fit in your jean pocket. The odd shape and the fact that this weed vape is a little on the heavy side means that you won’t forget it’s there. The Flow is flat on one side and convex on the other with an interesting teardrop shape that feels pretty comfortable to hold.

The magnetic lid fastens securely but is easy to remove, a cool trick (OK, it’s science but it’s cool anyway). The main drawback of this lid is that it can slip out of your hand when you remove it. Good thing it’s made of metal, so its pretty sturdy. The mouthpiece is also really hard to remove, seriously, it took me forever to get it off the first time. It gets easier after the first time you get it off though.

The Pulsar Flow has an easy-to-use interface with a single button and 5 LED lights below it that indicate temperature and battery level. There is some cool graffiti looking design on the inside of the lid but otherwise the Flow isn’t too flashy.

Using the Pulsar Flow

One of the reasons the Pulsar Flow is great for beginners is that it’s really easy to use. Here are the steps you need to get this baby going:

  1. Remove the lid, pack the herbs loosely in the chamber, replace the lid.
  2. Press the power button 5x to power up the Flow.
  3. Select the temperature by holding down the power button for 3 seconds, the light will cycle through the different temps until you let go.
  4. The selected temperature light will change from red to green and the unit will vibrate when heating is done.
  5. Inhale from the mouthpiece.

You can also perform step 3 while vaping if you’re one of those experimental or indecisive types.

The Pulsar Flow keeps it simple with one button control and indicator lights. No fancy screens necessary.

Pulsar Flow Performance and Vapor Quality

The Pulsar Flow produces tasty vapor and nice sized clouds. The quartz lined herb chamber, convection heating system, and long airpath are all responsible for that.

Quartz is a neutral material that doesn’t affect the flavor of the herb so all the flavor notes come through clearly. The convection system heats up the herb evenly and the long airpath cools down the vapor before it reaches your mouth.

The draw resistance is low so using the Flow feels nice and natural. Overall the Flow is the head of the pack when it comes to vapor quality in this price range.

Battery

  • Type –1600 mAh Lithium
  • Charge time — 90 minutes
  • Duration — 3-4 hours.

Pulsar Flow VS Similar Vapes

There are other high quality, low priced portable vapes out there. Here are a few that are worth checking out:

Pulsar Flow vs KandyPens Miva 2

The Miva 2 is a little smaller than the Flow plus it can use herbs and concentrates. It also has more granular temp controls and an OLED screen. All those premium features mean that the Miva 2 is more expensive than the Flow.

Pulsar Flow vs G Pen Pro

The G Pen Pro is the same price as the Flow, is nearly the same size, and is just as easy to use. It has a more traditional cylindrical shape and is lighter than the Flow, making it feel a little more comfortable in a pants pocket.

Pulsar Flow Review: Final Thoughts

The Pulsar Flow ($100 from Vape-Smart, use coupon code TVG10 for a 10% discount) is a terrific little vaporizer with features that you’d expect in bigger, more expensive vapes. Features like the quartz lined herb chamber and long airpath give the Flow unmatched vapor quality at this price range.

The high quality and low price make the Flow a great beginner vaporizer or a solid backup/ portable vape to a more powerful unit.

Add to that a fast and efficient convection heating system and you can see that the Pulsar Flow has some of the same features as some of the Best Dry Herb Vaporizers.
This little guy is worth keeping a close eye on.
