Planet of the Vapes One Review
TVG reviews products
The Good: Terrific vapor quality | Glass mouthpiece is nice option | Lots of cool accessories
The Bad: Short battery life
The Bottom Line: The One is one—pun not intended—of the better mid-tier vaporizers I’ve tried in a while. It has all the functions you would want in a high quality vape, but at a reasonable price. If you don’t want to spend too much for great vapor, then the One is for you.
The One is a vaporizer that might look familiar to anyone who is well versed in the dry herb vaping world. That is because it is based on the popular platform that launched vapes like the Healthy Rips Fury, Fury 2, Sutra Mini, and many others. It’s easy to why so many brands use this platform because it is highly portable, good looking. It’s also malleable enough for them to put their own signature stamp on it to differentiate it from all the other models.
The One may be the most distinctive version of this platform so far. It has features and functionality that the others don’t. It does so to the point where it almost transcends being a mid-range vaporizer and approaches the most expensive tier of weed vapes. If you want to know why, then keep on reading.
Kit and Accessories
- Planet of the Vapes One vaporizer
- Glass mouthpiece
- Tweezers + cleaning brush
- Dosing capsule
- Dab tool + concentrate pad
- USB charging cable
Compatibility: The One is compatible with dry herb and wax extracts.
There are a lot of accessories available for you vaping connoisseurs out there. You can get two different types of glass water bubblers, one that’s straight and another that’s curved. They both help to cool down the vapor even further.
If that’s not enough, then you can get a water pipe adapter, so that you can attach your own bubbler to the One. But if you want to keep things simple, then you can just get a simple, curved glass mouthpiece for some extra convenience. All of these accessories are available from Planet of the Vapes.
When you’re using the one with dry herb, I suggest you get a high quality grinder like the SLX to get your herbs to the perfect consistency. You can get one right from Amazon.
Design and Features
General Design: The One has a simple box-style design common to many portable vaporizers, but with a few unique attributes that make it stand out. The first is the big digital display that takes up the top surface of the vaporizer. It shows you all the temperature, battery, and session time information at a glance, plus it can be flipped so you can view it no matter how you hold the One.
It also has haptic feedback so that you don’t need to look at the display to know when heating is complete. The One is very user-friendly too because it’s easy to load and switching between the mouthpieces and the various optional attachments is super simple.
Portability: The One stands 3.2 inches tall with the standard mouthpiece and just 3.6 inches with the glass one. So portability isn’t an issue here, no matter whether you carry it in your pocket, purse, backpack, or wherever. Since each mouthpiece is exposed, you need to be careful not to get them dirty.
Build Quality: The One has a tough metal shell covered in a comfortable, rubberized coating that feels great to the touch. That makes the One the archetypical iron fist in a velvet glove. Tough but also gentle. The plastic mouthpiece is more durable, of course, but the glass mouthpiece is tougher than I expected. It can survive a few impacts while attached to the One, but I wouldn’t perform any unofficial impact tests if I were you. The oven is made of stainless steel and can hold 0.10 to 0.15 grinds depending on the fineness of your grind, or how much you pack. That makes it perfect for solo users and is easily enough for the average vaper.
Difference From Its Platform Siblings
If the One is based on a platform used by a bunch of other brands, then why not just buy one of those other vapes instead? If that is something you were wondering about, then here is the answer.
On The Surface: First of all, the One is more user-friendly than all the others. It is the only one with haptic feedback and a digital display that can be flipped upside down so that you can view it if you decide to vape from the opposite side.
On The Inside: Unlike its platform predecessors, the One has an aluminum heating chamber and a stainless steel heater. Both of those are big improvements over the stainless steel chambers and NiChrome heaters of the other versions. It also uses a mesh screen instead of a metal screen. All of these changes provide a big upgrade in vapor quality.
All The Extras: One of the biggest changes is the addition of a whole new set of accessories, the most significant of which is a new glass mouthpiece. Most vapers know the advantages of glass mouthpieces, they provide a long vapor path which helps to cool down the vapor. It’s also a neutral material, so the flavor of the vapor is unaffected.
Cleaning and Maintenance
The One is pretty easy to clean, you just need to clean out the chamber using isopropyl alcohol and cotton swabs. The mouthpieces are cleaned using q-tips and iso alcohol.
How to Use
- Remove the mouthpiece to expose the herb chamber.
- Fill the chamber with herb and then replace the mouthpiece.
- Press the power button three times to turn on the device.
- Use the control buttons to select the temperature.
- When heating is complete, inhale from the mouthpiece.
Temperature Range: 320°F to 430°F
Performance and Vapor Quality
Vaporizer Performance: The One heats up in about thirty seconds, which is about average for a vape this small. It never gets hot to the touch either, so it always feels good to hold.
Vapor Quality: The One uses a hybrid conduction/convection heating system so the flavor is in the upper echelon of mid-range vaporizers. The flavor is consistent throughout each session ad you get some decent clouds as well. My ideal temperature is in the 360°F to 380°F range, that’s where I got the best flavor quality.
The plastic mouthpiece isn’t bad but the glass mouthpiece is the better option since the vapor is cooler and purer thanks to the longer airpath and neutral material. No matter which mouthpiece you use, you will find that the draw resistance is low, which makes for a vaping experience that’s easy on the lungs.
Battery Performance: This is where the One disappoints, because the duration of the 1600 mAh battery is only thirty to forty minutes. That’s good for about six to eight sessions. At least it only takes about ninety minutes charges.
Planet of the Vapes One Vaporizer vs X Max Starry V3 vs Atmos Astra 2
The Starry and the Astra 2 are two other great mid-range vaporizers that perform like upper-tier vaporizers. The Starry produces high quality vapor, has a swiveling mouthpiece, and a removable 18650 battery. The Astra 2 also has a glass mouthpiece and is the coolest looking of the three vapes here. Even so, the One has what it takes to handle the competition.

The One is a great mid-priced vaporizer with great features and great accessories. It’s vapor quality is among the best in this price range too. Only the poor battery life lets it down. Otherwise, this is one of the better choices for anyone who doesn’t want to spend too much for high quality.
Who is it for: Anyone who believes that big things can come in small packages.
Who is it NOT for: Anyone who needs a weed vape that can outlast an episode of their favorite sitcom.
