In-Depth Joyetech Cuboid Mini Review:
The Joyetech Cuboid Mini Kit ($69 from Heaven Gifts) is the smaller version of the Cuboid box mod from Joyetech. It utilizes a non-removable 2400mAh Lipo battery that is USB rechargeable. The Cuboid Mini Kit includes Cuboid Mini atomizer, a sub-ohm tank that is designed only for this kit. When combined with the Cuboid Mini mod, the two match perfectly – a clean and smart looking box mod just like its older brother, the Joyetech Cuboid. In this article, we will peruse the performance of this mod and its ergonomic oval shape design. So, let’s get started!
The Cuboid Mini atomizer that comes in the kit looks terrific on the mod. But the airflow around the top cap of the atomizer is a little bit unnoticeable and a bit tighter to adjust. The tank holds 5ml of e-juice which is a great advantage for me, but if you over-fill it, it creates spit back and gurgling sound. I think this will be the biggest CON for this unit since no matter what I did, I couldn’t get it to stop. I don’t know if my unit was broken since the first day I used it – It’s perfectly fine until it started spitting e-liquid the next day after. I’ve tried switching coils, I blew the airflow open and closed, I took out the coil heads and put it back in, and I even tried to turn it upside down and blew its airflow closed so that the e-juice will drain but nothing worked out.
- Looks great and perfectly flush with the mod
- Holds a lot of e-Juice
- It gurgles and spits
- Doesn’t have a great airflow
Joyetech Cuboid Mini Mod
The Cuboid Mini mod has a weight to it even with its tiny size. It powerhouses 80 watts with 2400mAh internal battery. The chassis of this mod is nice and sturdy. I usually vape on power and wattage mode, but for the purpose of this review I tried temp control for stainless steel and it seems pretty accurate. The OLED display is bright and big for such a tiny mod which I really like. However, the longevity of its battery life will only last for hours which is quite disappointing if you’re on travel but it’s given since this mod is tiny and there’s no other way to make bigger space for strong battery. Also worth to mention, is its firing button, it’s not that sensitive enough, but it is easy to push. What I mean is, it won’t fire up randomly if you touch it but if you lean it to the side with your thumb on the button, the weight of the mod could make you accidently fire it. Although, It’s easy to avoid, just pay attention while vaping.
Another thing worth to mention is that a lot of consumers complaint about the mod overheats fast – not to the extent that is harmful, but enough to be uncomfortable and worrisome. But in my case, the unit I received hasn’t got that issue, even with constant use at fairly high power, it only warms up much like other mods on the market. Overheating is a problem some people have reported with the Joyetech Cuboid, so I think it’s worth mentioning here as a potential concern with the Cuboid Mini.
- Big Screen Display
- Battery is A-okay
- Portable and tiny box mod
- Easy to use
What in the Kit?
On the package you got four coil heads included – the Notchcoil 0.25ohm DL, BF SS316 coil 0.5ohm, BF Clapton coil 1.5ohm, and BF RBA M&L. You also got the mod itself and the tank, 2 drip tips, a USB cable for firmware upgrade and charging, and a user manual and warranty card.
The Vape Guide recommend this for:
Beginners and intermediate vapers, this all-in-one kit can be a terrific choice as a way to get started in vaping. But I wouldn’t recommend this kit for enthusiast vapers, for this kit is just a bumped. Here’s why – the mod is great (no issue about that) but the tank is wonky. I wish Joyetech has a way to fix the problems with the tank, but at $70 this mod is a great deal.
