Dabix Ion Review

The Good: Extremely portable | Fast and easy to use | Very discreet

The Bad: No voltage selection

The Bottom Line: There are few better choices than the Dabix Ion when it comes to portable, discreet use of 510 cartridges. There are better choices when it comes to batteries that offer voltage selection, but that isn’t what the Ion is about. It’s about quick, covert hits and is perfect for that.

Design and Features

Dabix Ion Design
The large cutout on one side of the Ion allows it to fit larger cartridges and for you to monitor the oil level of the cartridge.

General Design: The Dabix Ion is meant for quick, worry-free hits throughout the day, so it keeps things really simple. It has a fixed voltage and is draw-activated, so there are no buttons to worry about. It may be simple, but it isn’t stupid, since it has a large cutout on one side that makes cartridge insertion easy, and allows for easy monitoring of the oil level. That cutout allows the Ion to accommodate cartridges up to 11 mm in diameter.

The Ion is a pretty stealthy device, not just because of its small size, but also because it doesn’t have any bright lights that attract attention. The only light is a subtle LED on the base that illuminates on each inhale, it also does double duty as a battery indicator. The Ion is purposely not a flashy device, but if you want a touch of style, it is available in a good variety of colors and shades.

Portability: Have you seen how small this battery is? It can pretty much fit in a closed fist, even with a cartridge attached. Needless to say, if it can fit that easily in your hand, it can easily fit anywhere.

Build Quality: The Ion may be small, but it isn’t fragile because it’s made from brushed aluminum. So, not only is it durable, it has a nice texture as well.

The Ion does a great job of powering any of the cartridges I used with it. I know that this is meant to be a simple device, so the lack of voltage selection didn’t bother me too much, especially since the default 3.5V setting served my needs well.

It’s not my number one 510 battery for when I want to have a nice substantial session with my Medix vape oil, but for quick, fuss-free sessions when I’m on the go, the Ion can’t be beat.

Bottom Line

If you want discreet, convenient cartridge vaping on the go, then you can’t beat the Dabix Ion. This tiny 510 battery is small enough to fit into your fist and it won’t attract a lot of attention. Draw activation means that you won’t be fussing around with any settings, so you can take a hit whenever you want. Factor in the low price and the Ion is one of the better 510 batteries around.

Who is it for: Vapers on the go who want to take a quick, covert hit of CBD or THC oil whenever they want to.
