Crystal 2

4.9
4.9/5

Background

The original Crystal was released in late 2018 and has been one of the top-selling dab pens around thanks to its simple and straightforward design. In November 2020, KandyPens has introduced this improved version called the Crystal 2.

It keeps the predecessor’s strong qualities and improves a few aspects such as- stronger battery, adjustable airflow, and a redesigned atomizer.

The Crystal 2 retails from KandyPens (visit store) for $150, which is higher on the price spectrum. Still, when you factor in a lifetime warranty on the whole unit (including the coil), you get a pretty good value. Our coupon code of TVG25 will save 25% and bring the cost to around $113.

It is compatible with THC or CBD Wax, shatter, honey, and other types of solid extracts. I’ve used Steve’s Goods CBD Extracts for this review, which is available to ship anywhere in the US.

Design

The Crystal 2 doesn’t deviate too much from the standard vape pen design, though it is a little thicker than most Wax/ Dab pens.

The Crystal is made from stainless steel, so it’s pretty tough, plus it has a nice heft to it that you don’t get in other vape pens. It feels dense and solid while bolding and using it. The Crystal might not have the flash of some of KandyPens’ other vape pens, lt it is still a good-looking, intuitive device.

It has three main components- the battery, the coil, and the mouthpiece.

The Battery

The battery has been improved from 900mAh in the previous version to 1200mAh with the Crystal 2.

It has a one-button interface that can toggle the four voltage settings. There are four LED lights and the iconic “K” logo under the button, which lights up and indicates the current-voltage setting.

The Coil

The coil is a bucket style Quartz coil with a wide opening that makes it easy to load.

Most vape pens use a heating element that sits inside the coil and comes in direct contact with the extracts in the bowl. The Crystal 2 uses a superior design, where the heating element sits under the Quartz bucket. So it never comes in direct contact with the extracts. It heats the quartz bowl, which heats the wax.

The coil also has an adjustable airflow ring, which controls the amount of air coming into the coil, therefore varying the draw’s intensity.

The mouthpiece

The mouthpiece is made of only two materials- glass and stainless steel. Unlike other wax pens, there are no plastic or silicone seals that may contaminate the flavor and affect its purity.

A glass mouthpiece is always preferable over plastic, but the obvious downside is that it is breakable. Thankfully, there is a spare mouthpiece in the kit, which is nice of KandyPens to include.

KandyPens Crystal Instructions

  1. Press the power button five times to unlock. The LED lights will flash to signal that the pen is ready for use.
  2. Press the power button three times to cycle through the voltage settings (Yellow is the lowest, Green, Red, Blue is highest)
  3. Remove the mouthpiece to reveal the quartz bowl.
  4. Dab your wax into the bowl. You should load a small amount, around a tenth of a gr at a time, which is less than, say, a grain of rice. Avoid overfilling as this may flood the chamber and affect performance.
  5. Place the mouthpiece back on top.
  6. Then you have an option of two activation modes- manual and sesh mode:
    1. Press and hold the power button for manual heat mode. The heat will stop once you let go of the button.
    2. To activate sesh mode, click the button twice, and it will heat continuously for about ten seconds, so there is no need to keep pressing the button as you inhale. Another press of the power button will end sesh mode instantly.

Cleaning & Maintenance

The quartz bowl means that the Crystal 2 is pretty easy to clean. If there is any residue left over, then you can turn the Crystal to its highest setting to burn it off. However, this can wear down the battery and, eventually, the coil as well.

So, I recommend using an alcohol wipe to clean out the chamber and thread every 5-10 sessions. You can do it right after a session, while the bowl is still warm.

Performance & Vapor Quality

The stronger battery of the new version is clearly noticeable. It allows the coil to be faster, stronger, and more responsive. It heats up instantly and keeps a steady temperature in the bowl.

As far as the vapor quality, the Crystal 2 shines real bright. The quartz bowl and the glass airpath are made from neutral materials that keep the vapor pure and preserve all the flavor notes.

As I mentioned earlier, there is no plastic or silicone in the airpath, which is very important if you want to get clean, pure, flavorful vapor.

Of course, flavor always depends on the extracts you use. I’ve used it with CBD extracts from Steve Goods, and I was able to taste the subtle flavor notes of each extract I used it with.

The sweet spot between flavor and intensity were the two middle settings- Green and Red. If you crank the Crystal to its highest setting, you can get an intense “rig-like” experience, but be prepared to sacrifice flavor as a result. Also, the mouthpiece may get warm if you don’t allow it enough time to cool down.

Adjustable Airflow

The Airflow dial works a bit counter-intuitively. You may think that if you open it up and allow more air to go through the bowl, you will get more vapor. But the opposite is correct.

Think of it like that- the coil heats up and produces a certain amount of vapor. Now the more air you let in, the more diluted this vapor will be. If you close the ring and allow less air, the vapor is denser and more potent.

Adjustable airflow is an unusual feature to find in dab pens, but it makes perfect sense, and allows a greater degree of customization.

Playing with the adjustable airflow and temperature settings, the Crystal 2 can supply a spectrum of intensity levels and different flavor profiles.

Bottom line

All in all, the Crystal 2 positions itself as one of the best dab pens you can buy in 2023. It is simple enough for beginners yet powerful enough for advanced users. Dabbing has never been more straightforward and accessible.

The Airpath is completely free of glues, dies, silicone rings, or seals that may affect the purity of the vapor. The Quartz bowl, Stainless steel shell, and glass mouthpiece work in concert to provide the most flavorful vapor I tested from a vape pen lately.

C-Box + Mini

4.7
4.7/5

Background

KandyPens is one of the popular brands in the wax and oil vapes industry. They recently released the KP Crystal 2 (Review) that features a ‘coil-less quartz bowl’ and is currently the top-selling wax pen around. They also have the KP Oura (Review) for hardcore users who want to vape on a fine-quality portable eRig.

KandyPens C-Box Design
The KandyPens C-Box is a sleek, portable device that includes different sized magnetic thread connectors for customized cartridge height adjustment.

On the other hand, the C-Box by KandyPens (Visit Website) has two versions: The Pro and the Mini. Both vaporizers are compatible with 510-threaded CBD/THC cartridges, which are connected via magnetic adapters. The C-Box Pro has four voltage settings and a power button, while the Mini has a single temp setting and has a draw-activated function. We’ll explore more of the similarities and differences between both vaporizers below.

Design & Features

KandyPens c-box 510 battery design
The C-box has a nice, sleek design that feels good in the hand.

With the word ‘box’ in the name, you have a good idea of what KandyPens C-Box (Pro & Mini) looks like- it’s a conceal type vaporizer that’s generally box-shaped with a curvy rectangular design that sets it apart from other conceal type batteries.

KandyPens C-Box is made from aluminum, which makes it durable for a small device. It has an ergonomic design, and the Pro version is about 3 inches tall, while the Mini version is half an inch shorter. Regardless of which version, both devices are easy to carry and can be put in any pocket/purse.

The KandyPens C-box side has a window that indicates the level of the oil in the cartridge. On the other end, this is where the design of the Pro and Mini differs. The Mini has a curvy side, while the Pro has a flat section where the power button and LED light are located. This makes the Pro have a unique shape that feels good to hold. The button is well-placed since my thumb naturally rests on it while holding the device.

Magnetic Threaded Adapters

KandyPens c-box 510 battery thread
The magnetic adapters make the C-box very easy to use with any 510 threaded cartridge.

The C-Box Pro has an opening on top that’s wide enough to fit any carts up to 10.55mm. As you can see, there are two sets of magnetic thread adapters- a shorter pair and a longer pair. These magnetic thread adapters let you choose how far you want the mouthpiece to stick out of the battery.

Take note that if you use larger cartridges, C-Box Mini won’t accommodate it since it can only fit carts with a diameter of 9.6mm or below. It would have been nice if the C-Box Mini could fit all 510 pre-filled cartridges like the Yocan Uni (Review).

How to Use

Medix CBD vape oil with C-Box

The KandyPens C-Box is simple to use, especially with the Mini version since you can just inhale from the mouthpiece to use it. The C-Box Pro has a single button for turning on/off the device and picking any four voltage settings. To use it, you need to:

  1. Select the Magnetic Adapter you want to use.
  2. Screw the THC/CBD cartridge onto it.
  3. Place the cartridge into the cartridge receptacle of the battery.
  4. Press the power button five times to turn on the battery
  5. Select the voltage settings by pressing the power button three times.
  6. Hold the power button as you inhale from the mouthpiece.

Voltage Settings: 2.3V (Blue) | 3.0V (Green) | 3.6V (Yellow) | 4.2V (Red)

C-Box Pro VS C-Box Mini

KandyPens C Box Pro

As I’ve mentioned above, the C-Box Mini is about 2.5″ tall, which almost has the same size as a lighter. It has an aluminum alloy body and packs a 390 mAh battery like the C-Box Pro.

There are some minor adjustments in the C-Box Mini:

  • The Mini doesn’t have the multiple voltage settings of the C-Box Pro, but instead, it runs on a single voltage, which is 3.7V. Yes, it’s slightly higher than the Pro’s second-highest voltage setting, which means that the Mini strikes a nice balance between big clouds and flavor.
  • The C-Box Mini only has a set of magnetic adapters compared to the Pro that has two. So you’ll need extra care not to lose either of the magnetic adapters.
  • The C-Box Mini is draw-activated, so you can take a hit from it whenever you want without pressing a power button, which is the case in the C-Box Pro.
  • Since the Mini is a smaller device, you can expect the mouthpiece to stick out more than the Pro. Also, the Mini gets a little warmer than the Pro while it’s in use. This is always the case when you have a big power packed in a small body, so keep that in mind when using it.

Overall, the C-Box Mini is quite similar to the C-Box Pro. The major difference is that the C-Box Mini can’t fit larger cartridges higher than 9.6mm, unlike the Pro, where it can fit any carts up to 10.55mm. Unfortunately, C-Box Pro costs more than the Mini, which retails for $50, while the Mini costs $25 from KandyPens (Visit Store)

Performance & Vapor Quality

KandyPens c-box 510 battery power button

KandyPens C-Box heats up quickly regardless of the version. The C-Box Mini is simple and straightforward that can produce decent vapor for beginners. However, the issue with the C-Box Mini is it gets warm after 5-7 good hits.

On using the C-Box Pro, the four voltage settings let me customize my session compared to the Mini with a single temperature. I like vaping on lower temp settings so that I’ll get mild and flavorful vapor. And if I want to have more clouds while sacrificing a little bit of flavor, I’ll tweak it to the higher voltage settings.

As usual, the vapor quality depends on the cartridge. So if you want to have a good time, I suggest you buy something like Bloom Farms CBD (Review) or Jetty CBD (Review), which both have high CBD content, and the flavors are great. If you’re new, I would recommend you use the C-Box Pro so that you’ll have control over the temp setting, and you’ll be able to identify which vaping profile suits you best.

Battery Performance: The C-Box has a 390 mAh battery, which is good for a full day of casual vaping. Recharging takes under an hour, so you will never be without the C-Box for long.

Bottom Line

KandyPens c-box 510 battery

Overall, Both KandyPens C-Box (Pro & Mini) work great on their respective price range. It has a fast heat-up time, a long battery life and designed to be simple for beginners. The C-Box Pro is suitable for vapers who specifically vape bigger carts since the Mini can only fit cartridges with 9.6mm or less.

On the other hand, the C-Box Mini is more portable and discreet that packs almost the same power as the C-Box Pro. With that being said, I recommend the C-Box Pro since I can pick the temp settings to suit my vaping profile, and it doesn’t get warm, unlike the C-Box Mini. If you’re looking for a better option to vape THC/CBD cartridges, I suggest you look into KandyPens Special K (Review), which is currently the best 510 battery this 2022.

K-Vape Pro

4.6
4.6/5

Background

K-Vape Pro Design
The K-Vape Pro has a simple streamlined design that includes a high-quality tapered glass mouthpiece that feels good when you use it.

KandyPens (visit homepage) typically create wax pens like the Crystal (Review) which produce exceptional vapor quality for its price. They also collaborated with some celebrities like Amber Rose (Review) and A$AP Rocky (Review) that made KandyPens a well-known brand in the vaping industry.

KandyPens came up with a dry herb vape that’s under the $100 mark that brings simple yet packs functionality in a minimalistic design. K-Vape Pro features a hybrid heating method that utilizes both conduction and convection heating which brings out the flavor and vape the herb more efficiently. It also has a tapered glass mouthpiece that helped with the purity and coolness of the herbs.

Design & Features

The K-Vape Pro has a cylindrical-shaped body that’s made from anodized aluminum which makes it tough and scratch-resistant. It’s about four inches tall and has a slim silhouette that can slip in and out of any pocket. It also weighs 2.75oz which makes it easy to carry and comfortable to hold. Overall, I like its simplistic design that stands out compared to standard box-shaped weed vapes.

Since it’s a budget vape, it’s pretty basic to use, it only has a single button to control the power and temperature. The button is well-placed in the center of the device just above the led lights that indicate the battery life and 4 voltage settings. The K-Vape Pro also has basic functions like pass-through charging which allows vapers to use it while charging, and the auto shut-off feature which helps with conserving the battery.

Mouthpiece

K-Vape Pro Performance
The K-Vape Pro holds enough herb for solo users. Vapor quality is average, but the glass mouthpiece keeps the vapor cool at all temperature settings.

The K-Vape Pro has a nice, tapered, glass mouthpiece that helps keep the vapor cool and offset the short vapor path. The honeycomb screen underneath the mouthpiece also helped with dispersing the heat from the vapor so that your throat or mouth won’t get irritated after a full-packed session.

I think this is the stand-out feature of this vaporizer since most budget vapes use plastic mouthpieces. The only downside of a glass mouthpiece is it’s fragile, but based on my observation, the K-Vape Pro’s mouthpiece is thick which I think can survive an impact or two. If you ever broke your mouthpiece, the spare mouthpiece comes handy.

Heating Oven

K Vape Pro Performance

The ceramic heating oven has a funnel-shaped chamber that helped with loading the herbs at ease. It can hold a maximum of 0.3g of herbs which suits both beginners and intermediate users. Keep in mind that if you pack it too much, the airflow will be tightened making it hard for you to inhale the vapor.

It uses a hybrid heating system which means the herbs are vaped efficiently and produce more flavor in the vapor. I’ve seen this on expensive vapes like Crafty+ and Mighty (Review) which are currently the best herbal vapes in 2022. The hybrid heating is a  good feature for its price, but the K-Vape Pro can’t compete against the two I’ve mentioned above.

How To Use

Like most entry-level vapes, the K-Vape Pro is simple to use. It has a single button that is used to turn on/off the device and pick the voltage settings. Before you dive in and get medicated, let me tell you the golden rule of vaping herbs: grind the herbs to the right, vaporizer-friendly density.

As you can see, I’m using my SLX grinder (Review) which helped me grind my herbs to the right consistency which resulted in more evenly-vaped herbs since the heat can easily pass-through the finely ground herbs. To use the K-Vape Pro, you need to:

  1. Remove the mouthpiece.
  2. Use the funnel-shaped chamber to load your herbs, and replace the mouthpiece.
  3. Turn on the device by pressing the power button five times.
  4. Hold down the power button to cycle through the preset temperatures.
  5. Once the LED light indicates the color of your chosen temperature, release the power button.
  6. When the LED light stops blinking, you can inhale from the mouthpiece.

Temperature Settings: The temp settings are color-coded: 350°F (Yellow) | 375°F (Green) | 400°F (Red) | 428°F (Blue)

Auto-Shut Off Feature: The device shuts off automatically after 5 minutes.

Performance & Vapor Quality

Performance

vaporizers under $100
The price range of vaporizers can start at around $50 and go up to $700. There are good options in each price point, in this pic (right to left): POTV One, X-Max, K-Vape, Eden, Pax, Crafty, SLX Grinder. All great vapes, 4 out of the 6 are under $100.

The K-Vape Pro heats up 0.3g of herbs in around 30-40 seconds. It has a funnel-shaped chamber that helped me with the loading since I can just scoop-in the herbs. I prefer loading 0.2g of herb so that I can inhale the vapor much easier rather than packing it full.

I got 5-8 good hits before my herb was cashed which means the herbs were evenly vaped and extracted efficiently. The only issue here is the mouthpiece and the battery gets hot which is common for small vapes.

Small vapes often have a short vapor path which means there’s no way for the heat to disperse properly. Though there’s no concrete solution to prevent it from happening, aside from making a bigger and bulkier vape, the K-Vape Pro made it tolerable. The glass mouthpiece with honeycomb screen makes up with the short vapor path which makes the vapor fresh and less harsh.

Battery Performance: The battery lasts up to 5-7 sessions which is good but a little shorter than average vapes. It uses a micro-USB and it takes a longer time to charge compared to some vapes in the same category. It supports pass-through charging which means you can use it while it’s plugged in. Lastly, KandyPens offer a lifetime warranty for the battery if your battery suddenly stopped working.

Vapor Quality

For a $100 vape, the vapor quality is decent that can cater to the needs of beginners and intermediate vapers. The vapor is mostly cool and gets warm (but barely) on the highest setting. I got the best flavor from the two middle settings since they are most balanced. The highest setting gave me some more clouds but the flavor loss isn’t worth it. On the lowest temp setting, it produces a milder and flavorful vapor which I recommend for those who are starting to vape herbs.

Bottom Line

The K-Vape Pro is a portable dry herb vape that produces surprisingly decent vapor for a $100 vape. Yes, it doesn’t have haptic feedback, an LED display, or any fancy features that higher tier vapes have. Rather than focusing on the features, they focused on how to make the vapor and unit stay cool even when you’re using it for a long period.

Overall, this is the dry herb vape that I highly recommend for beginners to use. The design is simple and intuitive, it produces decent quality vapor, and it’s durable that could probably last for a long time. However, if you can bump your budget a little bit, there are better options out there like the Arizer Solo 2 (Review) or the Utillian 722 (Review).

Kandypens Oculus

4.6
4.6/5

Background

California-based KandyPens has been around since 2014, and have built a pretty solid reputation for producing quality and high-performance vaporizers. They also frequently appear on our best vaporizers list, with popular products such as the Crystal 2 (Review) dab pen and the K-Vape Pro (Review), one of the best dry herb vaporizers you can get for less than $100.

Now, they’re entering into a new space with their first Honey Straw – the KandyPens Oculus. The KandyPens Oculus features a unique design, a zinc-alloy main body, a single-button operation, a quartz tip, and the Oculus glass bubbler with LED illumination. It’s powered by a 500mAh battery and charges via USB-C

Kit and Accessories

Kandypens might usually be all out when it comes to their device design, branding, and marketing – but they do keep their device kits pretty fuss-free and minimal. The KandyPens Oculus comes in a large black box with molded cut-outs that hold everything in this pretty lean kit. There are only 3 things in the box – the Oculus, a stand to hold your device, and a USB-C cable for charging.

Features Snapshot

  • Unique bulb-shaped Design
  • The OCULUS Glass Bubbler
  • Single-button Operation and LED Illumination
  • 500mAh Battery and USB-C Charging
  • Quartz Mesh Coil Tip

Unique bulb-shaped Design

The KandyPens Oculus has quite an eye-catching bulb-like design. The water bubbler takes up more than half of the device’s body and is constructed out of high-quality, heat-resistant glass. The bottom electronic half is made out of aluminum and continues in the same bulb shape, with a single, easy-to-locate dip right where the button is.

In terms of portability, the Oculus isn’t really a vaporizer I would recommend for a trip or anywhere outside the house. The glass bubbler and the lack of a carrying case should be enough to worry you a bit about breakage. The kit, however, does come with a stand so it doesn’t topple over when in use at home – but doesn’t do much outside of that. If you’re really keen to take it places, the box does have foam inserts – so you might be able to re-use that, you’ll just have to exercise a little extra caution.

The OCULUS Glass Bubbler

The Oculus Glass Bubbler is the standout feature of this device. While many Honey Straws have mouthpieces that are compatible with certain water pipes – the Oculus one-ups the competition by having one built right in. Passing vapor through water cools it down and rids it of any impurities – ensuring that you get only the best and most flavorful results.

A small downside, however, is that there is no indicator/ a line that’ll tell you how much water to place in the bubbler. I ended up putting in a bit too much and ended up flooding the device with wax. So I highly recommend placing only a very small amount of water in.

Single-button Operation and LED Illumination

Instead of having to fumble around for controls, the Oculus has a single button for turning the device on/off and for cycling through any of its three (3) pre-set temperatures. While at first glance, the button may seem bigger since the entire area is black, it’s actually a smaller more tactile button located closer to the bubbler.

To use the Oculus:

  1. Fill the bubbler with a small amount of water.
  2. Press the power button 5x fast and the KandyPens Oculus will begin pre-heating.
  3. Press the button twice more to choose from the pre-set temperatures.
  4. Once selected, the device will begin to heat and the LED light will blink twice once it’s ready.
  5. Dip the quartz tip into your wax jar, draw and enjoy!

The Oculus has 3 temperature settings as indicated by the LED light under the bubbler. The LED lights up in blue, green, and red. With the light being under the bubbler, instead of a small outward-facing light, the entire bubbler lights up and when you’re taking a draw, it does look pretty cool and trippy.

500mAh Battery and USB-C Charging

The KandyPens Oculus is powered by a 500mAh internal battery which should be good for about 30 – 40 minutes of use. The Oculus does feature session mode, which means the tip will stay hot for a certain period of time – consuming more battery. In that case, the battery should be good for roughly 8-10 sessions.

On the opposite side of the button is where the USB-C charging port is and it’s pretty great to see more and more devices finally adapting to the use of USB-C, which is a lot more stable than its predecessor, Micro-USB. It’s also just as accessible and easy to purchase anywhere – just in case you lose the one in your kit.

Quartz Mesh Coil Tip and Vapor Quality

The Oculus has a Quartz Mesh tip which produces pretty flavorful and- depending on which temperature setting you choose, has pretty varied results. Usually, quartz coils result in a vapor that’s intense- making it more suitable for more advanced vapers.

Vapor Quality: On the Oculus, the Quartz tip produces lighter, terpy results on the lowest setting, and becomes denser and more heavy-hitting as you go up in temperature. The water, although there isn’t much of it – does a fine job of cooling the warm vapor.

Bottom Line

KandyPens markets the Oculus as a “Next-Generation Honey Straw” and it’s not hard to see why. The brand has always been known for being first in the trends and pushing the designs and functionality of mid-range devices- and for their first Honey Straw, they’ve done just that.

The Oculus is definitely an at-home device, and is great for anyone looking for a, unique, versatile, straightforward concentrate vaporizer. It produces results that would satisfy users at any experience level- from beginner to advanced. For more, check out our complete guide to Honey Straws and our list of the best wax pens of 2022.

Kandypens 350mAh 510 Battery

4.5
4.5/5

Kit and Accessories

  • KandyPens 350 mAh battery
  • USB charger

Compatibility: The KandyPens 350 mAh battery is compatible with pre-filled cartridges.

Design and Features

Design

kandypens 350 mah battery design
The design of the KandyPens 350 Mah Battery is simple and minimalistic, which makes it very easy to use.

The KandyPens 350 mAh battery is a pen-style battery rather than a conceal type, which has its share of advantages and disadvantages. The biggest advantage is that it can hold any sized cartridge so you never have to worry about whether a cart will fit like you do with most conceal batteries like the Rokin Viper. Another pro is that using the 350 with a cartridge feels more natural since the combined length of the battery and cartridge feels very comfortable to hold.

Portability is where the main disadvantage lies, specifically, portability with the cartridge attached. The length that makes the 350 feel comfortable also makes it very awkward to fit into any pocket with the cartridge connected to it. It’s not too big a deal since you can just carry the cartridge and battery separately, but if you’re the type who likes to take a quick hit every now and then, you might find the pen style batteries a little inconvenient. Otherwise, the 350 is pretty unremarkable and nondescript in its design, which isn’t a bad thing if you value discretion and ease of use.

Features

The 350 mAh battery is designed to be used with cartridges that output a higher voltage than the norm, which is why its voltage settings are 3.7V, 3.9V, and 4.1V. It also has a sesh mode that keeps it turned on for a while. Since the 350 is draw activated, the battery normally only turns on when the user inhales, but with sesh mode, you can keep the heat going without any inhalation necessary.

How to Use

  1. Screw the 510 cartridge onto the battery.
  2. Press the power button 5x to turn on the battery.
  3. Select the voltage level from one of the presets.
  4. Once the voltage is reached, inhale from the mouthpiece of the cartridge.

Performance and Vapor Quality

Performance

kandypens 350 mah battery performance
The KandyPens 350 mAh battery is designed to work with cartridges that use high voltages.

The 350 heats up quickly and offers users three different voltage levels for a decent amount of customization. Ultimately, it’s as convenient and simple as you would expect from a 510 battery.

Vapor Quality

Vapor quality in 510 batteries depends on the quality of the cartridge, so great cartridges, like the ones from Gold Line, give you the best results. Once you do have a great cartridge, the 350 makes a great companion for it because of the voltage selection and overall convenience. Those are the attributes that you want from a great 510 battery so the 350 has everything you need.

Battery Performance

You don’t need any guesses as to the size of the battery here since KandyPens had the good sense to include it in the title. It’s not the biggest you will ever see in a 510 battery, but it lasts for a while before it needs to be recharged. Recharges take about an hour so you won’t be waiting long. I don’t like the key fob style charger used with the 350, mainly because I prefer a charging cable, but that’s more of a personal issue than a serious problem.

Design and Features

General Design: The ASAP Rocky vape pen already has a sleek, ergonomic shape, but what really puts it over the top when it comes to style is the wood grain style finish. It gives the pen an extra touch of class and sophistication that you don’t see in other vape pens, not even the other ones made by KandyPens themselves. The style doesn’t end with the vape pen since the useful carry case is a good-looking piece of kit in its own right.

KandyPens Asap Rocky vape pen kit
The KandyPens Asap Rocky vape pen kit comes with 2 coil types plus a refillable 510 cartridge, dab tool, micro USB charger.

The finish is available in four different types of wood, and all of them look great contrasted against the gold trim on the mouthpiece and middle of the device. It’s versatile, too, since the two included atomizers are easy to switch out. If you’re in the mood for a different type of extract, the oil tank is readily available.

Portability: Vape pens never have any problems with portability and the Flacko Jodye vape pen doesn’t buck that trend. You can fit it in your pocket and take it with you wherever you want. This time, you have the optional carrying case if you want to take the pen and all of its accessories with you as well.

KandyPens ASAP Rocky Flacko Jodye Vape Pen Kit
The included carrying case can fit all of the following components (L-R): dab tool, oil tank, ceramic coil, USB charger, battery, mouthpiece.

Finish Options: You can get the Flacko Jodye vape pen in mahogany, maple, rosewood, and walnut finishes.

Compatibility: The Flacko Jodye vape pen is compatible with wax extracts, oil extracts, and pre-filled 510 cartridges.

Optional Accessories

You can get replacements for either the dual quartz or ceramic atomizers on the KandyPens website. Even better, those accessories are all available in the various finishes in which the vape pen is available. So, you don’t have to worry about any mismatched pieces. You can also get refillable oil tanks from the website as well. Just remember to use the KandyPens coupon code on whatever it is you buy.

If you’re in the mood for CBD, then you’re in luck because the ASAP Rocky vape pen is 510 threaded. So, you can attach your favorite CBD or THC cartridges without any trouble.

Cleaning and Maintenance

The ceramic coil is easier to clean since you just need a q-tip soaked in isopropyl alcohol to clean it out. The dual quartz coil can be cleaned the same way, but it’s a more painstaking process. For really stubborn stains, you can soak the atomizers in a shallow amount of iso alcohol.

How to Use

  1. Screw your choice of atomizer onto the battery of the vape pen.
  2. Dab your wax onto the coil and then screw the mouthpiece onto the atomizer.
  3. Press the power button five times to turn on the device.
  4. Press the power button three times to toggle the preset temperatures.
  5. Once you have selected a temperature, hold down the power button while inhaling from the mouthpiece.

When using the oil tank or a pre-filled cartridge, just screw it onto the battery, select a temperature, and get vaping. Simple as that, though you need to fill the oil tank first of course.

Temperature Selection: 300°F (Pink) | 350°F (Red) | 390°F (Green) | 430°F (Blue)

Performance and Vapor Quality

KandyPens ASAP Rocky Flacko Jodye Vape Pen Performance
The ceramic coil (middle left) is preferable to the dual quartz coils (middle right) because of the smoother vaping experience.

Vapor Quality: The vapor quality is great with either coil, but I prefer the ceramic one. It heats up more slowly and provides a smoother, cooler vaping experience. It does so even at the higher selections, but I prefer to use the two middle settings.

The dual quartz coil produces bigger clouds, but also hotter, harsher vapor to go along with it. If you’re going to use this one, then I suggest you stick to the lower temperature settings. You can still get good flavor and nice clouds without the vaping experience getting too uncomfortable.

The oil tank and pre-filled cartridges work well with the ASAP Rocky vape pen but the flavor depends on the quality of the oil or of the cartridges.

Battery Performance: The Flacko Jodye vape pen uses a 650 mAh battery that can go for a few days of casual vaping before it dies. When it does, it only takes about an hour to bring it back to life.

Background

After a successful collab with A$AP Rocky, KandyPens (Visit Homepage) has teamed up with famous model and hip hop “It” girl, Amber Rose for another celebrity collaboration vape pen.

KandyPens Amber Rose vape pen Review

Designed by Amber Rose, this vape pen with classy tones and topnotch features is appealing for users looking for a functional device that also makes a fashion statement. I’ve been using it for over a year and the crazy looks I get every single time with each draw has always been a great ice breaker.

It comes with 2 coils and has a 510 thread that works well with 510 cartridges which makes the Amber Rose an all in one solution for extracts (dabs + oil carts) and a worthy addition to the KandyPens catalog that includes the A$AP Rocky collab and the Crystal.

Design & Features

Sexy and provocative, the vape pen has a champagne-colored build embellished with fine accents of gold and successfully evokes the Amber Rose persona. Bespoke with durability and quality packed in a sturdy, lightweight, and pocket -friendly design, this pen has the “oomph factor” sealed in. Especially with the Amber Rose monogram on its base, and the K neon light that shines bright with each draw.

Not one to be considered low-key, this vape pen is designed for easy operation and comes in a sleek carrying case that blends functionality, portability, style, and attitude. The Amber Rose offers a more satisfying on-the-go vaping experience that we’ve all come to expect from a signature KandyPens vaporizer.

510 Thread

KandyPens Amber Rose 510 compatibility

The 510 thread is the universal standard for compatibility for carts and batteries. The Amber Rose is 510 threaded for guaranteed ease of use with other attachments whenever needed as it fits any pre-filled CBD or THC cartridges that are 510 threaded. This only means you can now enjoy pretty much every type of extract vaping available. If you are not sure whats the difference between Wax and Oil extracts, check this post that explains it in detail.

Heating Coils

The Amber Rose comes with two coils, a Dual Quartz Coil and a Quartz Bowl which hands you the option to customize the vaping experience even more. The Quartz Bowl delivers pure flavor without the need for combustion while the Dual Quartz Coil generates larger clouds, offering a potent and flavorful vapor.

I like the fact that KandyPens included both coils in the package as you can simply choose either one and reorder that same choice whenever needed. I found myself replacing the coils every month or so as  I was using the pen heavily.

Replacement coils are available from KandyPens for $25 (coupon code TVG25 will save you 25%).

Temperature Settings

KandyPens Amber Rose dual quartz coils
The dual quartz coils are better for more experienced vapers.

Aiming for the right temp for each dab is essential. The Amber Rose is optimized for your personal vaping pleasure featuring four temperature settings. Simply switch between the temperature settings, which are 300°F, 350°F, 390°F, and 430°F and watch the iconic K logo button light up with a different color for each setting. This feature is sure to appeal to any vaper newbie and every certified aficionado.

One Button Operation and Sesh Mode

This vape pen features one-button simple and straightforward operation, as with the majority of KandyPens’ vapes. Two clicks will activate sesh mode, and the pen heats continuously for about 10 seconds, so there is no need to keep pressing the button as you inhale. In a nutshell, the Amber Rose has been benchmarked for adaptability and comfort with every design and feature.

Interface & Usage

Straight out of the box, this vape pen is as portable as it can get. Lightweight and fits in any pocket, you can take it anywhere. It comes with a hardshell case, just in case you might want to stash it in with style. The beauty of the Amber Rose vape pen comes with the easy to use controls that make vaping a breeze.

How to Use:

KandyPens Amber Rose wax dab
The quartz bowl is easier to use than the dual quartz coils.

Operating the KandyPens Amber Rose vaporizer is pretty simple.

  1. Select from any of the 2 heating coils you wish to use.
  2. Load your choice between the oil extract cartridge or wax concentrate with the help of the dab tool.
  3. Fix the equipment together.
  4. Pressing the K button five times on the Amber Rose turns on the pen.
  5. Toggle between the temperature settings by pressing the same button three times. The pen will then alternately shift between heat settings, each represented by a different color. Clear white is for 300°F degrees, red is for 350°F, green is for  390°F, and blue for 430°F
  6. Click the button twice to activate the Sesh Mode (optional).
  7. Place the mouthpiece between your lips and draw.
  8. Recharge the pen when needed with the USB charger.

Performance & Vapor Quality

Wax Performance:

KandyPens Amber Rose Vape Pen

Unlike the KandyPens A$AP Rocky vape pen which sports one dual quartz atomizer and one ceramic atomizer, the Amber Rose has dual quartz coils that heat up very quickly and produce more harsh, intense vapor at any of the four temperature settings, which are 300°F, 350°F, 390°F, and 430°F.

Since quartz is an inert material that doesn’t have any effect on the flavor of the wax, you’ll get great vapor using either one of the coils—I know I did—but there are some differences between the two that will affect the vaping experience.

Odds are, most vape connoisseurs might love the full flavor which is entirely great, but it might be a little too intense for beginning vapers. Those vapers are better served by the quartz bowl, which is both easier to load and provides a smoother, less intense vaping experience, while also delivering impressive flavor.

If it’s big clouds you want, then the dual quartz coils are for you, but if flavor is more important, choose the quartz bowl.

Oil performance:

KandyPens Amber Rose with CBD cartridge
The Amber Rose vape pen works well with compatible 510 cartridges.

The Amber Rose Vape allows you to enjoy vaporizer oil extracts in two different ways, you can use the oil cartridge and fill it with your oil of choice, or simply attach a pre-filled 510 cartridge to the battery. In either case, this vape pen gives a top-tier performance, though the better the quality of the vape oil, the better the performance. So, regardless of which type of extract vaping you’re into, the Amber Rose Vape Pen will serve your needs.

Battery Performance:

The Amber Rose vape pen is internally powered with a 650 mAh battery that is sure to hit a few days of casual vaping before it runs out. When it does, it only takes about an hour to bring it back to life.

Bottom Line

What’s just about everything on top of being one of the best looking vape pens around? In my book, blending style and substance, form, functionality, and portability are the benchmarks of a very good vape pen. KandyPens has done it again with this Amber Rose Vape Pen collab, and it is one of the top options when it comes to dab pens.

KandyPens K-Box

4
4/5

Design and Features

KandyPens K-Box Design
The KandyPens K-Box has a straightforward, simple design that is somewhat bland but makes it easy to operate.

General Design: The K-Box is essentially a beginner box mod and it looks a lot like most vape mods on the market. It’s not as distinctive as most of KandyPens other concentrate vapes, though it does come in some nice colors besides basic black if you want to add a dash of style. What it lacks in looks, it makes up for in functionality, because it is very easy to use thanks to its one-button operation.

That button is colored silver and looks distinctive since it contrasts nicely with the black color of the standard K-Box. It also looks good when contrasted against the other colors available on the K-Box.

The K-Box is also 510 threaded, so you can attach your favorite pre-filled cartridges to the device. The voltage settings are clearly labeled on the device, so you’re always sure what voltage you selected. The mouthpiece and atomizer setup is of pretty high quality. The actual mouthpiece is made from glass so it helps to cool down the vapor and keep it pure. One nice touch with the K-Box is that you can adjust the airflow easily using a ring so you can choose how open or restricted you want it to be.

Portability: The K-Box is only four inches tall so you can take it with you anywhere even if with the mouthpiece attached. Fitting it into a pocket might be a bit of a squeeze, but you can just about manage it. You might try a backpack or a purse if trying to fit it into your pocket is too uncomfortable for you.

Build Quality: This vape is made from hard plastic instead of the metal that you see in other more advanced vape mods. That makes the K-Box a little less sophisticated than other, more expensive mods, but it is still quite durable.

Kit and Accessories

  • KandyPens K-Box
  • Dab tool + wax container
  • Micro USB cable

How to Use

  1. Remove the glass mouthpiece to expose the coils.
  2. Dab your wax onto the coils and then replace the mouthpiece.
  3. Press the power button five times to turn on the device.
  4. Press the power button three times to select one of the voltage settings.
  5. Once heating is complete, inhale from the mouthpiece while holding down the power button.

Voltage Settings: 2.8V | 3.2V | 3.6V | 4.0V

Performance and Vapor Quality

KandyPens K-Box Performance
The triple quartz coils of the KandyPens K-Box provide strong, intense vapor that isn’t suited for beginners.

Vaporizer Performance: Heating is pretty much instantaneous with the K-Box, which is what you would expect with a box mod. The adjustable airflow is a great feature since it gives you some more control over the vaping experience. I prefer to leave it wide open, but I know some people might like a tighter draw, especially on the higher voltage settings where the vapor can get really harsh. And on that subject…

Vapor Quality: Since the K-Box uses triple quartz coils, it can hit pretty hard, particularly at the higher voltage settings. That’s why I stuck to the lower settings where the vapor is milder, but still kind of intense. Clearly, the K-Box is meant more for hardcore vapers and cloud chasers than those who prefer cooler, more flavorful vapor. The glass mouthpiece helps to mitigate some of the harshness, but it never really goes away no matter which voltage setting you choose.

Battery Performance: The K-Box has a 900 mAh battery that can last for a few days of casual use before it needs recharging. With heavier use, it can last about a day, so the battery performance is solid all around

KandyPens K Stick Supreme

4/5

K Stick Supreme Background

Simple, convenient and effective is the best way, to sum up, the K-Stick concentrate vaporizer pen ($34.95 from Vape-Smart) by KandyPens. The K-Stick is a portable vaporizer that incredibly easy to use and has been designed with the daily dabber in mind.

K Stick Supreme Design

The KandyPens K-Stick only measures 5 inches in length, making it one of the most compact units on the market.

The K-Stick kit is a discreet and budget-friendly vape pen measuring about 14 cm / 5.5 inches in height so it can safely slip into a pocket or purse when not in use. The battery features an auto shut off timer and can be locked with five rapid clicks to prevent the device from accidentally heating. The K-Stick features a funnel style atomizer that reduces waste and prevents your precious wax concentrate from leaking.

At first, I was a little skeptical because I hadn’t found this product anywhere else, not even on the Kandypens website. But when I received the k-stick I was surprised by how small it is, it’s the same size as a pen. Took a few loads to build the well and get rid of the burning coil taste, but it’s okay now. Unfortunately, there aren’t really any instructions, just a tiny piece of cardboard with some basic tips. I still don’t know about replacing the coils, hopefully, I’ll have a solution when the time comes.

How to Use

The KandyPens K-Stick Supreme features a click-based system, just five clicks to power the unit on. Three click changes the voltage which are color-coded – Green for low, Red for Medium, and Blue for High.

Loading the chamber is quite simple, although the chamber is a little deep. Charging is super easy too with the included USB charger. It connects to the battery via the 510-threaded connection.

K Stick Supreme Vapor Quality

A single push button activation creates instantaneous heat for quick dabs virtually anywhere. It really is that simple to operate. Plus the battery can be locked with five rapid clicks. This means it won’t accidentally heat up when being transported.

The vapor quality is average. With something this cheap, just don’t expect something that gets the job done. K-Stick has a single coil in it, so it’s not going to produce very big clouds. It also gets too hot for the flavor to be anything worth talking about.
