What is CBD Wax?
CBD Wax is derived from the hemp plant and is named so due to the appearance it takes on after the CBD is extracted and purified. There are only a few ways to extract CBD, the most common way being- covering the plant in a solvent, which may be either CO2 or butane. This process is called the “closed-loop extraction system.” At the end of the process, the CBD takes on a wax-like form and consistency.
Most CBD wax products will contain about 80-90% cannabidiol, which means that a gram of CBD wax may contain about 800mg of CBD. Looking at it from a numbers point of view- CBD wax offers really good value for money, especially when compared to herb.
Types of CBD Wax
Several brands also label their products in various ways and won’t simply list them as “CBD wax.” this is definitely confusing to anyone new to concentrates- especially when responsible manufacturing processes require accurate and clear labeling of products. This is why I suggest making your purchase from reputable brands like Steve’s Goods. CBD Wax is available under the labels/ forms: budder, crumble, crystal, and shatter.
CBD Shatter gets its name because it resembles pieces of broken glass and has the texture of hard caramel. When heated, CBD Shatter melts bubbles into a honey-like substance.
With a consistency that very closely resembles creamy butter. CBD budder is made with air pressure and purging hemp at extremely high temperatures and then whipping the resulting oil to a light a fluffy consistency
Crumble is created in a way that’s quite similar to budder. The main difference is that crumble is made with pre-purged CBD oil that’s already been agitated, the resulting wax from the oil is a more fragile product with a crumbly texture. Crumble may still contain high concentrations of CBD, but it may also be less potent.
Crystal is also known as CBD powder, this form is pure CBD isolate with nothing else in it.
