The AEGIS is very simple to use and will work well for a first timer, who is looking for a way into the vaporizer world. It heats up quickly and is easy to carry around. One thing I did not like was the design of the mouthpiece. I think the Atmos Pillar has better design and I would invest a bit more $ and go for the Pillar over the AEGIS.

In-Depth Atmos Aegis Review:
The Atmos AEGIS ($139.95 from AtmosRX) is a new Dry Herb (Convection) Vaporizer from Atmos, features a stainless steel chamber and precise temperature control. The last Atmos dry herb product I reviewed was the Pillar, and it made first place in my Best Dry Herb Vaporizer under $200 list, so I was excited to test this AEGIS from Atmos.
In the box:
Very simple and straightforward packaging on this one, it includes the Vaporizer, Manual, Packing Tool, Cleaning brush, USB cable, User Manual, and a replacement Silicone filter.
Atmos AEGIS Design:
First glance, the AEGIS looks similar the G Pen Elite. It has a part rubber, part hard plastic shell, and three buttons on the front. The LED screen shows the current temperature settings and other device information.
The Chamber is located at the top of the unit, right under the mouthpiece. The mouthpiece can be twisted to open and close.
Click the main power button three times rapidly to lock or unlock the AEGIS. Once unlocked it will automatically start heating up to the set temperature. You can adjust the set temperature by using the up/down buttons, and the AEGIS will adapt to the new temperature.
The Atmos AEGIS was quick to heat up (around 10-15 seconds) and easy to inhale from. The interface is simple and intuitive, and there is not much to get wrong here.
Well, that’s where I was a little disappointed. The mouthpiece is made of plastic and has a Silicone Filter (which Atmos includes an extra one) insert. The AEGIS is a pretty powerful vape so the vapor was strong but did not taste as good as would have liked. I do not like the Silicone insert, and I’m not sure why Atmos choose to use it.
What I didn’t like about the AEGIS:
The design on the “twist to open” mouthpiece did not work out before, and I do not find it to be innovative. While I did not have problems while using it, it seems like it is not a sturdy design and I’m afraid the mouthpiece may break fairly quickly. It takes a few times to understand how to open or close it, and you may break it while trying. I’ve seen better designs from Atmos in the past.
