Atman Lucky Bear Review

The Good: Extremely portable friendly | Good battery life | Very affordable

The Bad: No voltage selection | Larger cartridges will not fit

The Bottom Line: The Atman Lucky Bear is perfect for anyone who needs a highly portable 510 battery and doesn’t want to pay too much for it. It’s not the best battery I’ve ever used, but it’s not bad. I wouldn’t recommend it for more experienced vapers because of the lack of voltage control. However, it is a good choice for beginner’s first stab at cartridge vaping.

Design and Features

Atman Lucky Bear Design
The Lucky Bear is designed kind of like a cartoon bear clutching the cartridge, which gives it a little more personality than most batteries.

General Design: The Lucky Bear is a box style 510 battery, but not a conceal type because the cartridge is left exposed when you attach it to the battery. Unless you really like to keep your carts hidden, that isn’t much of a problem. Otherwise, the Lucky Bear doesn’t stray too far from the 510 battery template, but it’s a pretty attractive device nonetheless. In profile, it resembles a bear, one that’s tightly hugging the cartridge when it is attached. It’s a cute design that gives the Lucky Bear more personality than other 510 batteries.

The Lucky Bear has a lot of curves and it has nice molds that perfectly grip any cartridge that is attached to it. The Lucky Bear has a loop of string attached to it that you use to carry it around. It can be useful for that purpose but it can sometimes get in the way when you’re vaping.

Portability: This is where the Lucky Bear really shines because it is one of the smallest 510 batteries I’ve ever come across. It is just under two inches tall and can easily disappear into a clenched fist. It goes without saying that portability isn’t an issue even with a cartridge attached.

How to Use

  1. Firmly screw your cartridge onto the device.
  2. Press the power button five times to turn on the battery.
  3. Inhale from the mouthpiece once heating is complete.

Voltage Setting: The Atman Lucky Bear has a single unspecified voltage setting.

Performance and Vapor Quality

Atman Lucky Bear Performance
The lack of voltage selection means that the Lucky Bear is more suited for beginners than for experienced vapers.

Vapor Quality: The lack of any voltage selection means that the Lucky Bear isn’t meant for the hardcore user. It’s more for anyone who wants to take a sip now and then, or for vapers who want an inexpensive battery that they can take anywhere, and in those roles, the Lucky Bear excels.

It’s not the most amazing battery I’ve ever used but it’s decent, the flavors of the cartridges I used with it came through clearly. The lack of dense vapor might be disappointing for some, but it is great for the Lucky Bear’s role as covert, discreet battery.

Battery Performance: The Lucky Bear uses a 450 mAh battery that can last for two to three days of regular use. It does take about two hours to charge, but that isn’t too bad considering how long it lasts.

Atman Lucky Bear vs Session Micro Starter Kit vs Yocan Uni

The Micro and the Uni are both similarly priced batteries that are also highly portable. The Micro, despite its name, is actually the second smallest battery here, behind the Lucky Bear. That larger size also allows it to have a slightly higher capacity battery and multiple voltage settings. The Uni is the biggest of the three, though it’s still pretty small. It does have the biggest battery and a shutter that allows it to hold cartridges of various sizes.

Bottom Line

The Atman Lucky Bear is one of the smallest—if not, the smallest—510 batteries around. It can fit in the palm of your hand and can last for days without a recharge. The small size does mean that it has to compromise on voltage selection. However that means that the Lucky Bear is a great battery for beginners on a budget.

Who is it for: Vapers on a strict budget. Anyone who wants a battery that they can easily take anywhere.

Who is it NOT for: Anyone who wants to customize their vaping experience via voltage selection.
