In-Depth Pulsar APX Vaporizer Review:

A versatile vaping device that gives you the ability to vape both dry herb and wax concentrates. The APX dry herb is one of the most compact vaporizers with just 4 inches in length. The manufacturer has gone an extra mile to make a rich and elegant vaping device.

The ceramic heating chamber comes with a stainless steel base to vaporize your dry herbs consistently. The APX dry herb comes with a concentrate canister that can easily be fitted in it to vape waxy concentrate. The temperature control functionality of the APX dry herb goes from 356° to 428°F. It also has a potent 1600mAh lithium-ion battery that can be charged with the micro USB charger.

When I was asked to review this vaporizer, I accepted the invitation without hesitating for I am always intrigued by the quality of Pulsar. Reviewing a device that promises so much to the user was really a juicy proposition for me.

Pulsar APX Design

APX Dry Herb Vaporizer Kit

First things first; the packaging of the Pulsar APX is simple. The elegantly designed box intrigued me and I could not wait to open it to check out what lies inside it. I must say that Pulsar has spent time and money on the packaging of the APX dry herb. They have used it as a potent branding tool. No doubt, Pulsar is already a well-established brand in the vaporizer arena, but the importance they give to this brand is clearly visible in the packaging. Once I opened the box, I was treated to a well laid out vaporizer inside. In terms of looks, the APX is nothing less than an eye candy.

It not only looks great but also feels really sturdy in your hands; thanks to the quality material used. It has a rich black finish and every functionality fits really well with the overall design. Whether it is the mouthpiece, the start button or the micro USB charging port, everything adds to the beauty of the vaporizer. Underneath the vaporizer box they have provided some really nice equipment like extra screens for the heating chamber, cleaning brush, packing tool, and USB charger.

Using the Pulsar APX

I must say, the Pulsar APX is a pretty easy to use vaping device. The mouthpiece comes out smoothly with a slight touch. Underneath the mouthpiece, there is a ceramic heating chamber that has a stainless steel base for efficient heating of your dry herb. Being a seasoned vaping enthusiast, I was able to get my APX ready under one minute. If you like vaping your waxes, simply fill the concentrate canister with your favorite concentrate. To vape, just put the mouthpiece back and turn the vaporizer On. This simple operation makes the APX a vaporizer that needs minimum maintenance.

Pulsar APX Vaping Experience

APX Dry Herb Review

I found that the Pulsar APX dry herb is equally good for dry herbs and waxy oils. What really impressed me was the quick heat up time of the Pulsar APX Dry Herb, it reaches the desired temperature in less than 40 seconds. This is really exceptional for a dual function vaporizer. The vaporizer offers 5 preheat levels from 356° to 428°F. I personally enjoyed the most at 374 degrees.  However, that is just an individual preference. The best part is that the temperature control functions are color coded. So it is very simple and easy to choose your preferred temperature setting. Both with dry herbs and concentrates I got equally good results.

Pulsar APX Battery and Warranty

The Pulsar APX comes only with a 1600mAh lithium-ion battery that can be charged easily with the micro USB charger. Once fully charged this battery can sustain vaping sessions as long as 1.5 hours. For a vaporizer of this size, such a battery performance is really commendable. The Pulsar APX comes with a standard six-month warranty.

  1. I purchased one of these and the charge didn’t last…I’d charge it for 8+ hours and use it in the morning a few times, it was flashing yellow…this happened more than once. I returned it

  2. I bought this vaporizer, and was kind of disappointed, it was vaporizing the product but produced very little visible vapor? is there something I’m doing wrong?

    • No. I thought the same thing Kyren when I got mine. Its a small travel size vape so its not easy to see it. You will be able to tell by the taste in your mouth. If this is your first vape like mine was, it will take you a little bit to get use to it. It doesnt give you the same high and you cant see the vape smoke like you may have thought but stick with it. Also make sure you clean the screen parts after smoking. They get sticky real fast making it SO hard to make pulls.

  3. I want to know how long to smoke the herb in the chamber before it is “exhausted.” I feel like I’m going through a lot of herb rather quickly by emptying the chamber when the herb is light brown, which it easily turns in one use. Shouldn’t I be able to turn the unit on and off several times (and maybe stir the herb a bit, per the instructions) without emptying and refilling? I use the dried herb like decarbed plant for tincture, so that’s a huge plus with this unit, but I agree that the battery is surprisingly short-lived (under 5 minutes of “on” time every time, but charge still goes to yellow by second use, and usually to red by third time I try to use it. Am I inhaling incorrectly? I finally invested in a second unit because I really do love this vape product, so now I can alternate between the two throughout the day.

    • You should go thru less not more herb. A bowl should last a couple sessions depending on the temp. Your are cleaning out new herb. You will know when it’s ‘cashed’ because it will smell a bit like burnt popcorn and will be dark brown. But if you have a true vape… it is the gift that keeps on giving… save the cashed herb. If you run out of green, it will get you high af… taste horrible and smells worse, but in a pinch, it works…. Google it.

  4. My Pax3 was stolen and I got this as a cheap replacement and that’s exactly what it is. CHEAP. It’s not as well made. It’s ugly. It doesn’t heat nearly as fast. But I get high so I guess it serves it’s purpose. Definitely going back to Pax.

  5. When using this vape for wax, I see almost no visible vapor. I can’t find much info online about it either. Anyone else have this experience?

    • I bought apx herb/wax/oil a few days ago. Feeling the same! Like wax just disappear from a cup. And it’s nothing to smoke…I thought I have fake one, or my wax is wrong , or I smoke wrong, or this cup is not really for wax…because concentrate just fall into neutralizator. Spend 120$ for it in my country, I believe they going return it. Or I find out how to use it 🙁
