AirVape X Background

If you want a premium vaporizer without a premium price then the AirVape X ($179 from Vape-Smart, use coupon code TVG10 for a 10% discount) is for you. This is technically a dry herb vaporizer but a concentrate pad allows the use of wax. The X has many of the features that you see in the Best Dry Herb Vaporizers but at a much lower price. You can read the rest of my AirVape X review for more details but I can tell you right now that there are very few drawbacks with this hybrid vaporizer.

AirVape X Kit

AirVape X Design

The AirVape X is 4.1 x 1.85 x 0.48 inches, weighs 3.2 oz, and is made from aluminum. It is very slim and looks like it was designed in a wind tunnel. The basic black look has AirVape’s propeller design engraved into the surface and the overall effect is very elegant.

It’s not just a looker though, the X has haptic feedback, a convenient magnetic lid, and an LED screen. Only the latter poses a slight problem because the mirrored surface can be annoying. If there’s a bright light around, it can be hard to read. Aside from that, the X looks like it costs more than it actually does.

How to Use the AirVape X

  1. Remove the mouthpiece to reveal the herb chamber, load your herb then replace the mouthpiece.
  2. Press power button 3x to turn on the device.
  3. Select temperature using up/down arrows, the device will vibrate when the temperature has been reached.
  4. Inhale from the mouthpiece.

AirVape X Performance and Vapor Quality

It turns out the AirVape X doesn’t just have looks going for it, it delivers some pretty tasty vapor as well. The ceramic material in the chamber and the mouthpiece keeps the flavor pure and a screen filter in the mouthpiece cools down the vapor, ensuring that it’s never harsh regardless of the temperature.

For dry herb, the best temperatures are in the 250°F to 400°F range, anything higher gives you bigger clouds at the expense of better taste. Concentrate performance is just okay, wax is better when vaped at higher temperatures that the X can’t reach. No matter what substance you use, draw resistance is always low and comfortable.

The 1300 mAh battery is smaller than most in this range, most likely to maintain the slim profile. The battery only lasts for about an hour but at least it has a relatively short charge time of about eighty minutes.

The AirVape X's performance with dry herb is very good.

AirVape X VS Similar Vapes

AirVape X vs Linx Gaia

The Linx Gaia is another relatively inexpensive weed vape with features that you would expect in more expensive vaporizers. Features like a quartz herb chamber, granular temperature control, and a glass mouthpiece.

AirVape X vs Atmos Astra 2

The Atmos Astra 2 is also a fairly economical cannabis vaporizer that offers lots of bang for the buck. The Astra 2 has haptic feedback, precise temperature control, and a bright OLED screen all in a perfectly portable package.

AirVape X Review: Final Thoughts

The AirVape X ($179 from Vape-Smart, coupon code TVG10 provides a 10% discount) looks, feels, and performs like a premium vaporizer but it won’t cost you an arm or a leg, not even a finger. You get features usually seen in the Best Weed Vapes like haptic feedback, flavor preserving ceramic materials, and precise temperature control.

It’s slim design and excellent vapor quality make it a great portable. It’s concentrate performance isn’t the best but that’s not a huge deal when the dry herb performance is so good. If you want a high quality vape at a reasonable price then you should think long and hard about the AirVape X.
